Have you received junk emails from people saying they will increase traffic to your website by making you rank high in the WEBSITE POSITIONING (Search Engine Results Pages)? We get them all the time. Google states they get these unwanted solicitations. Here’s an example of an email Search engines received in the past:
“Dear search engines. com,
I visited your site and noticed that you are not classified by most of the major search engines and directories… ”
Funny right? But how many people are addressing these ridiculous emails and spending lots of money with expectations that they can increase traffic to the website? Many of these businesses can brainwash their clients into thinking they benefit! Companies that use these unethical business practices provide the entire SEO (Search Motor Optimization) community with a bad popularity.
Two Point Enterprise creates this article about what NOT to search for when shopping for SEO so that you might arm yourself to make an educated choice. We know no better way to illustrate this short article than to present the spam email we obtained from one of these rogue businesses. Carefully read the email within the capture below, and then notice our comments afterward.
Just click here to see a capture of the e-mail.
The subject of the email was “Do You Want Referrals from you Web site? ” (I guess these were in such a hurry to fire this particular email off they did not even take time to check the punctuational. )
The first red flag is the email receipt, to begin with! Check out Google’s Information about Webmasters, and you’ll see that one thing they tell you is, “Be wary of SEO firms which send you to email out of the blue. inch
The next thing the author of this junk e-mail email tries to do is make a feeble attempt associated with identifying themselves with realtors. Hence the words, “Location, Area, Location.” (Sorry partner, anyone ain’t jumping in bed when camping. ) Then they pay credit history that you might already have an excellent internet site, but if traffic could be enhanced could potentially drive millions of buyers and billions of dollars aimed at your web. They rule out pay-per-click companies apparently without giving credit history that real estate is another thing pay-per-click can work pretty effectively with, namely in significant cities. Finally, as with most spam emails like this, consider they have the solution you’ve also been looking for!
We couldn’t support but chuckle a little with the following line where they increase the font size along with announcing, “It’s Here!!!! as well as Satisfaction is GUARANTEED!!!!!!!! Very well (One more exclamation place and I think everybody in the office probably have wet their pants. ) Seriously though Mr. Junk Email Author, what’s below? Is it SEO services which has a perpetuating monthly fee to make sure of a recurrent income? My spouse and i hate to crash
the party typically, but SEO ended up being around a long time before you listed your domain on October 24, 2004. And regular monthly fees were invented in the past too. I will give them a bit credit for putting a assurance on your satisfaction rather than your own ranking. Rule #2 through Google is, “No, you can guarantee #1 ranking. Inch They don’t tell you how they assure your satisfaction in the e-mail though. I’d be amazed if it’s a 100% cash-back guarantee. I’ll bet they have this set up where they wind up pocketing money some way or any other. If they can brainwash a person into thinking they are doing a good job, they don’t have to provide any money back.
The next thing this particular spam email does is attempt to establish trustworthiness for itself. They want you to visit a search engine and search for the large, non-competitive five keyword phrase “neighborhood prospecting websites for realtors.” If the reader hasn’t removed the email and flushed this through their recycle bin, chances are they’ll see that the company which sent this email presently ranks #1 for this lookup. We plugged the 5-word phrase into a
Facebook campaign and put a bet of $5 on it. Right after submitting, Google automatically modified the price down to $0. 02 (because that’s how much it can be worth), assigned it the very best position on the page (because there is no competition for that phrase), and estimated that our price per day for the phrase would be $0. 00 (because no one in the world would be searching for that). So big deal, guys, if you happen to be the #1 result for “neighborhood prospecting websites for realtors.” That’s because nobody different wants it!
Now appearance down a little further and discover what we have here! If it isn’t a wise property and trademark encroachment against the search engines Google, GOOGLE, and Yahoo! I’d always be willing to bet that these search engines like yahoo didn’t authorize any use of their registered trademarks. Likewise, I don’t see any notice at the bottom identifying the rightful owners of the images
typically, nor do I see the publisher disclaim himself from just about any affiliation with these search engines. Simple little images like this could mislead the reader into contemplating some kind of special relationship or affiliation that has been ratified using search engines. Google says, “Beware of SEOs that assert a ‘special relationship’ along with Google.” I guess that Search engines have no plans to get into some strategic partnership using these whiz kids any time soon.
Following this, we have the sign-up switch where we can make our monthly donation to these individuals. How thoughtful of them to help make the button so lovely and large.
